General Details
Furniture Grade Slip Tees, also known as Sling Tees or T-L's, have a similar shape to standard PVC tee fittings but have two short pass-through sockets and a single static socket. These fittings are utilized for structures and projects that require a hinged joint, such as greenhouse doors, pivoting cart handles, and flip-up covers.
Design
Slip Tee PVC furniture grade fittings are made of industrial-strength materials with 5x better impact strength compared to plumbing-grade or low-quality PVC fittings. Note that they are not flow-through due to a closed and sealed stop in the static socket.
Materials
Slip Tees use high-durability UV inhibitors, resisting sunlight and fluorescent degradation. With this detail, they withstand climate extremes, maintaining color and strength for decades. Plus, they're non-toxic, free of harmful heavy metals, phthalates, and dioxins.
Product Use
Slip Tee furniture fittings have an open socket with a slightly larger diameter than the PVC pipe, allowing the fitting to slide or rotate along a pipe length. The closed socket is static, creating a T-shaped hinge that pivots around the pipe. Ideal for patio furniture, fitness equipment, garden structures, medical gear, and training equipment.
Securing
Connect PVC Slip Tee fittings by sliding the loose socket of the slip tee over a pipe of the same size. If desired, this pivot socket can be secured at a specific position via the insertion of a screw to keep the desired angle. The static socket can connect by simple pipe insertion or permanently glued using PVC solvent cement.
