PVC Lemonade StandSummer is in full swing, and the heat is on, so why not let the kids cool off the neighborhood with a Lemonade Stand? Our latest PVC plan is just that—a PVC Lemonade Stand that is easy to build and looks fantastic as well.

With an awning to add some shade and a space beneath for drink supplies or a cooler, this PVC Lemonade stand is just right to get your kids started on the neighborhood block. Its designed to be just the right height for 5 to 7 year olds, but can be modified for taller kids, just by making the bottom four vertical PVC segments about 6 inches taller.
It’s easy to build too; the frame is constructed of PVC pipe and fittings and the awning and base skirt are two pieces of your favorite fabric, cut to size and simply screwed into place. A counter is made from 1x8 plywood that just pushes into place and can be easily removed.

The entire frame is super-light and can be stored in the garage, just by hanging it on a hook, up high and out of sight. We’ve also left the bottom PVC sockets open, so that if you prefer you can add some wheels using our Caster Fitting Inserts, to roll it about.

As with all of our plans, the uses of this are not limited to just selling lemonade. This is also makes an excellent kiosk for kids at churches, social functions and community programs.

PVC Plan Overview

You can  download the plan directly here on the Lemonade Stand Plan page, but we'll take you through it in steps.  Here’s how to make it:

What You’ll Need

For the frame you will need approximately 40-feet (35-feet if using 5-foot lengths) of 1-1/4” PVC pipe to build the entire Lemonade Stand Frame. You can use either plumbing-grade PVC pipe, or you can use our  FORMUFIT Furniture Grade PVC pipe, the latter of which will withstand the harsh sunlight and is also available in a variety of colors to make your Lemonade Stand unique.

FITTINGS

The PVC fittings you will need for this project are:

PVC Fitting and Pipe Quantity
1-1/4 in. 4-Way PVC Tees 6
1-1/4 in. 3-Way PVC Elbows 2
1-1/4 in. PVC Tees 2
1-1/4 in. 90 Degree PVC Elbows 2
1-1/4 in. PVC Slip Tees 2
1-1/4 in. Schedule 40 PVC pipe 40 feet
ACCESSORIES

Additional supplies needed to finalize the Lemonade Stand are the following:

Description   Quantity
1 in. x 8 in. Pine Boards 2 -  at least 40 in. in length each
Preferred Fabric or Material 2 - Cut to 80 in. x 26 in. and another cut to 36 in. x 24 in
Round Washer Head Screws 16 - #8 x 1/2 in. long

TIP: A single 8-foot length of the pine lumber will cover the whole project. Ask your local home improvement center if they can cut this down to two (2) 40 in. lengths. They’ll usually do this for free and will save you a step!

Once built, the PVC Lemonade Stand is ready for its first customers, and should bring a few years of summer fun to your kids.

  • It’s not possible to make the required cuts with 5 foot lengths of pipe. After making the 36" cuts (on each of the seven peices) there aren’t any 30" lengths left over.
