California Proposition 65
FORMUFIT Furniture Grade PVC pipe and fittings are manufactured in the USA using rigid, lead-free, phthalate-free materials. Our products do not contain substances in amounts that would require a Proposition 65 warning.
Some ingredients used in production, such as titanium dioxide, are listed under Proposition 65 only when present as airborne, unbound particles (for example, dust). In our finished PVC products, these compounds are fully encapsulated in the solid material and do not pose that type of exposure risk.
You can use FORMUFIT products with confidence knowing they are safe for their intended use and comply with California Proposition 65 requirements.
What is Proposition 65?
Proposition 65 (Prop 65) mandates that businesses provide warnings to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. These chemicals may be present in the products Californians buy, in their homes or workplaces, or released into the environment. By requiring businesses to provide this information, Proposition 65 empowers Californians to make informed decisions regarding their exposure to these substances.
The state of California is also required by Proposition 65 to publish and update a list of chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Since its initial publication in 1987, this list has grown to include approximately 900 chemicals and must be updated at least once a year.
