Professional Woodworker Builds Custom PVC Spray Booth with FORMUFIT

Bill Rainford, a professional joiner and woodworker, modified the FORMUFIT Paint and Spray Booth Plan to create an affordable, full-featured varnish and paint booth for his woodworking projects. Using Furniture Grade PVC pipe and fittings, Bill designed a custom booth that’s durable, lightweight, and easy to assemble.

Bill took the original FORMUFIT design and enhanced it with his own innovative features, including a built-in filtration system and a custom fan enclosure using 20-inch box fans. The modifications allow for better air circulation, cleaner finishes, and safer indoor use — all while keeping costs low compared to commercial spray booths.

He documented the entire process on his blog at Rainford Restorations, including a complete walkthrough, materials list, and a detailed time-lapse video showing construction from start to finish.

This project demonstrates how Furniture Grade PVC can be adapted for professional use — strong enough for workshop environments while being light, modular, and easy to customize. Whether you’re a craftsman, hobbyist, or DIYer, FORMUFIT PVC components provide the flexibility to create functional, cost-effective workspace solutions.
