It’s hot — really hot. And when the summer heat is relentless, there’s nothing quite like a refreshing, fine mist of cool water to bring the temperature down.

Enter the FORMUFIT PVC Misting Station — an easy, affordable project built from 3/4” PVC pipe and a handful of fittings and hardware-store components. This compact misting setup sprays a light, cooling mist that’s perfect for outdoor lounging, patios, or kids’ playtime on scorching days.

Misting systems cool the air without drenching you — ideal for relaxing outdoors or setting up a fun backyard “bike wash” for kids to ride through. Lightweight, portable, and customizable, it’s a weekend project that pays off every summer.

The Build

Here’s how to build your own PVC misting station using basic parts and tools:

1. Build the Base

The base begins with a 3/4” 4-Way PVC Tee. Attach three 12” pipe segments — two capped with External End Caps, and one fitted with a 3/4” PVC hose adapter (readily available at most home centers). This lets you connect a standard garden hose directly to the unit.

2. Create the Riser

Insert a 28” PVC segment vertically into the base, then attach another 12” segment at a 45° angle using a 45° PVC Elbow. This angled riser forms the “neck” of the misting station, positioning the spray area at a comfortable height.

3. Add the Misting Head

At the top, connect two 12” pipe sections using a PVC Tee, then cap both ends. Drill small 1/4” holes along the top of each horizontal pipe and screw in landscape-misting jets, available in the sprinkler section of most home-improvement stores.

4. Cement and Assemble

Use PVC cement on all joints — this step is crucial. The internal water pressure from a hose can easily separate unglued connections once the water is flowing. After assembly, let the cement fully cure before use.

Usage Tips

• Place behind outdoor seating or near patios to cool guests comfortably.
• Set it up as a “kid wash” for bicycles or toy cars.
• Use minimal water pressure — just a light trickle is enough.

The Misting Station uses very little water yet provides a refreshing cooling effect — perfect for saving water while keeping the fun going.
